Vivienne Atelier Quilt
Couture composition, translated into the art of the bed.
Couture composition, translated into the art of the bed.
The Vivienne Atelier Quilt is an expressive study in textile, proportion and craftsmanship, composed with the instinct of couture rather than the repetition of traditional patchwork.
Rich expanses of deep espresso and black velvet are juxtaposed with tailored herringbones, heritage plaids, warm ivory weaves and selectively placed archival-inspired embroidered textiles. Each material is considered for its individual character—its weight, hand, luster and texture—and arranged in an intentionally asymmetric composition that feels collected rather than patterned.
The construction is deliberately restrained. Subtle quilting gives Vivienne its softly structured body while allowing the character of each textile to remain visible: velvet catches and absorbs the light, woolen weaves lend architectural texture, and embroidered passages appear sparingly throughout like fragments drawn from a private textile archive.
A finely tailored espresso perimeter frames the composition and gives the quilt a beautifully finished drape across the bed. The reverse is rendered in a rich coordinating espresso textile, creating a quieter alternative when the statement face is turned back.
Generously proportioned and substantial in hand, Vivienne is designed primarily as a decorative bedcover, yet remains inviting enough for everyday layering.
Coordinating shams and decorative pillows are available separately, allowing each bed to be composed individually.

CRAFTSMANSHIP & DETAILS
The Vivienne Atelier Quilt is individually handmade to order, with each piece composed, cut, pieced, quilted and finished specifically for its commission.
Rather than following a predetermined repeating pattern, Vivienne is assembled through an intentionally asymmetric composition of carefully selected luxury textiles. Deep cotton velvets are juxtaposed with tailored wool-rich herringbones, heritage-inspired plaids, dimensional woven textiles and selectively placed archival-inspired embroidered passages, each chosen for its individual texture, weight and character.
Every textile section is individually considered before being cut and positioned, allowing the scale, direction and balance of the composition to develop across the finished piece. The individual passages are then meticulously joined and subtly quilted to provide structure while preserving the distinctive hand, drape and surface character of each material.
Fine espresso velvet piping frames the perimeter, while a coordinating deep espresso reverse completes the quilt with the same attention given to its decorative face.
Vivienne is not produced on a conventional production line. Each piece requires extensive handwork and is made slowly and deliberately, allowing our craftspeople the time necessary to achieve the exceptional standard of cutting, piecing, quilting and finishing intended for the collection.
Because each Vivienne is individually composed and handmade, subtle variations in textile placement and hand-finished details are inherent to the piece and are considered part of its individual character.
Made to order exclusively for House of Ellory.

CARE
Due to Vivienne's combination of velvet, wool-blend, woven and embroidered textiles, professional specialty cleaning only is recommended.
Do not machine wash, tumble dry, bleach or iron directly. Avoid prolonged exposure to strong direct sunlight, which may cause natural textiles to fade over time.
For routine care, gently shake or air the quilt periodically and use a soft textile brush where appropriate. Attend to spills immediately by gently blotting with a clean, dry, absorbent cloth. Do not rub.
When storing, ensure the quilt is completely clean and dry. Store folded in a breathable textile bag in a cool, dry environment. Avoid prolonged compression and refold periodically along different lines to protect the loft and textile surfaces.
