A sweeping study in antique ochre, espresso and charcoal, Vestige d'Or explores the quiet tension between movement, pigment and form.

Vestige d'Or is an expressive study of movement and material, defined by a sweeping field of antique ochre that travels across the composition against passages of espresso, charcoal, tobacco and softened limestone.

Broad gestures are interrupted by darker architectural forms, while scraped edges, exposed underpainting and irregular marks reveal the physical process of the work. The composition moves between control and spontaneity—the warmth of its ochre pigments balanced by deep near-black passages and quieter expanses of parchment and mineral ivory.

Each work is individually painted by hand in oil on fine Belgian linen, developed through successive applications of artist-grade pigment. Areas of translucent glazing, dry brushwork, scraping and restrained impasto create a richly varied surface that changes subtly according to the light and viewing angle.

Natural variations in brushwork, pigment, texture and mark-making are inherent to the hand-painted process, ensuring that no two works are precisely alike.

Presented within a slender, hand-finished antiqued bronze hardwood frame, Vestige d'Or is conceived as an architectural work of art—particularly suited to placement above a console, fireplace, credenza or generously scaled seating arrangement.

Individually painted by hand in oil on fine Belgian linen. Professional artist-grade oil pigments are applied in successive layers, incorporating expressive brushwork, tonal variation and areas of subtle impasto.

The linen is traditionally stretched over a kiln-dried hardwood stretcher frame selected for stability and longevity. Each painting is finished within a slender solid-hardwood gallery frame with a hand-applied antiqued bronze finish, allowing the artwork itself to remain the visual focus.

Due to the individually hand-painted nature of the work, variations in brushwork, pigment, texture and composition are expected and celebrated. These distinctions are part of the character of the piece and ensure that each Rouge et Ombre possesses its own individual surface and presence.

Each work is accompanied by a House of Ellory Certificate of Authenticity documenting its title, materials and dimensions.

Display indoors in a stable, climate-controlled environment away from prolonged direct sunlight, excessive heat, humidity and moisture.

Dust the frame gently with a clean, dry microfiber cloth. The painted surface should not be cleaned with water, household cleaners, solvents or abrasive materials. Avoid touching the painted linen directly, as natural oils from the hands may affect the surface over time.

For significant cleaning, conservation or restoration, consultation with a qualified professional art conservator is recommended.

When moving the work, handle it by the frame rather than the painted surface. Use appropriately rated professional picture-hanging hardware and wall anchors suitable for the finished weight of the artwork and the construction of the wall.
