The State Chair — Atelier Noir Sauvage explores the State Chair's monumental silhouette through an assertive study of black lacquer, patterned hide and mohair.

A highly polished piano-black shell surrounds an interior upholstered in individually selected zebra-pattern hair-on-hide, its organic striping allowed to move naturally across the chair's broad radiating panels. A deep black mohair velvet seat provides a quiet visual anchor, allowing the patterned interior to remain the focal point.

A fine aged-champagne-brass reveal traces the opening before disappearing into a recessed swivel plinth below.

No two Noir Sauvage chairs will present identically; natural variation in the patterned upholstery forms part of the Atelier character of each commission.

The State Chair is made individually to order and requires specialist handling due to its scale, weight and finished surfaces. Delivery is by scheduled freight service. White-glove delivery may be available depending upon destination.

Customers are responsible for confirming all doorways, corridors, elevators, stairways and final placement areas before ordering. Because of the chair's substantial dimensions, delivery access should be verified carefully before production.

International orders may be subject to additional freight charges, duties, taxes and destination-specific handling requirements.

Made-to-order pieces are final sale and cannot be cancelled, returned or exchanged once production has commenced.

Dust the exterior regularly with a clean, soft microfiber cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, polishing compounds or household chemicals on lacquered, metallic or patinated surfaces.

For mohair velvet, lightly vacuum using a clean upholstery attachment with reduced suction. Attend to spills immediately by blotting gently with a clean, absorbent cloth; do not rub. Professional upholstery cleaning is recommended for significant staining.

Metallic and patinated finishes are intended to develop subtle character over time. Variations in tone, texture and patina are part of the handcrafted nature of the piece and should not be considered defects.
