Regal, intelligent and unmistakably Arabian, Arabian Horse No. III captures the extraordinary refinement and presence of one of the world's most celebrated horse breeds.
Rendered in deep bay, burnished chestnut and near-black tones, the Arabian emerges against an atmospheric ground of charcoal, muted blue and antique bronze. Light travels quietly across the face, arched neck and sculpted form, revealing the breed's characteristic refinement while the dark mane and tail recede into shadow.
Rather than depicting the horse in motion, the composition captures a moment of alert stillness—ears forward, eye attentive, head held with the natural dignity for which the Arabian has been admired for centuries.
Layers of warm and cool tonal variation give the coat depth and luminosity, while selective painterly passages and softened edges lend the work the character of a traditional European equestrian portrait.
Presented within an ornate antique-inspired gilt frame, Arabian Horse No. III was conceived as an heirloom statement piece: dramatic enough to command a room, yet restrained enough to live naturally within both traditional and contemporary interiors.
It is the darkest and perhaps most dramatic work in The Heritage Equine Collection, providing a rich counterpoint to the luminous Akhal-Teke and ivory Tinker Horse.
The Heritage Equine Collection No. III
CRAFTSMANSHIP & DETAILS
Individually hand-painted original oil painting on fine linen.
Traditional oil painting techniques employing layered pigment and translucent glazing.
Champagne, limestone, muted umber and burnished-gold palette developed to capture the distinctive metallic character of the Akhal-Teke coat.
Fine hand-rendered detailing throughout the head, musculature, mane, tail and anatomical structure.
Atmospheric ground developed individually by the artist through layered tonal application.
Presented in an antiqued, hand-finished gilt frame selected to complement the restrained character of the painting.
Each work is painted individually to order. Natural variations in brushwork, coloration, glazing and surface character are intrinsic to the hand-painted process and ensure that no two paintings are precisely identical.
