The Madison Avenue Chair distills the architectural language of its namesake sofa into a deeply comfortable, generously proportioned lounge chair.

At 42 inches wide, Madison Avenue deliberately rejects the proportions of a conventional accent chair. Its broad shelter back sweeps continuously into substantial upholstered arms, surrounding a deep single seat cushion and tailored lumbar pillow.

The generous upper silhouette is grounded by a restrained skirt composed of broad uninterrupted panels and precisely placed inverted pleats. Self-welt detailing traces the chair's curves, emphasizing its sculptural construction while maintaining the collection's quiet, tailored character.

Designed to stand beautifully alone or alongside the Madison Avenue Sofa, the chair is equally suited to a formal living room, bedroom suite, library or private sitting room.

Available in Ivory Velvet, Sand Velvet, Olive Velvet and Chocolate Velvet.

Use the same core construction standard as the sofa: hand-built reinforced hardwood/engineered hardwood frame; traditional high-quality suspension; multi-density high-resilience cushioning with natural fiber and feather/down wrapping; tailored feather/down lumbar; dense plain velvet upholstery; fully padded sculptural arms and back; self-welt detailing; hand-finished seams; broad tailored skirt; one controlled inverted pleat at each front corner; weighted hem; concealed hardwood support; and a completely finished exterior back so the chair may be floated within a room.

One detail is especially important here: specify the exterior back as a clean uninterrupted upholstered field wherever textile width and construction permit. That was a major improvement during development and makes the chair look considerably more expensive from behind.

Each Madison Avenue piece is individually made to order and requires an extended production period reflecting its frame construction, upholstery, tailoring and finishing.

Large-format furniture is shipped by specialized freight. Delivery requirements, property access, stairways, elevators, corridors and doorway clearances should be confirmed before ordering. Due to the scale of the Madison Avenue Sofa in particular, customers should review all access dimensions carefully.

International orders may be subject to destination-specific freight, duties, taxes, customs charges and additional handling requirements.

Professional upholstery cleaning is recommended. Vacuum periodically using a soft upholstery attachment and avoid aggressive brushing. Attend to spills immediately by gently blotting with a clean, absorbent cloth; do not rub. Avoid saturating the textile or applying household cleaners directly to the velvet.

Velvet naturally develops subtle variations in pile direction, shading and pressure marking with use. These characteristics are inherent to the textile and are not considered defects. Protect upholstery from prolonged direct sunlight, excessive heat and moisture. Lumbar cushions may be gently reshaped by hand as required.
