A study in architectural form and couture upholstery, The Althorp Bed brings the precision of traditional English tailoring to the bedroom.

Its commanding upholstered headboard is defined by a long horizontal crown and softly sculpted shoulders, creating a distinctive architectural silhouette that feels at once stately and restrained. A dimensional upholstered perimeter frames the headboard, finished with exceptionally fine contrast piping that quietly traces its form.

For the Botanical Archive Edition, the bed is upholstered in a richly layered botanical textile inspired by historic European printed linens and hand-rendered garden studies. Overscale blossoms, winding branches and delicate foliage unfold across a warm ivory ground in softened tones of antique rose, faded terracotta, olive, parchment and blue-grey. Each upholstered section is individually pattern-placed to preserve the composition and continuity of the artwork.

The tailored, floor-length skirt extends the same attention to detail throughout the bed. Broad uninterrupted textile panels are finished with a finely weighted hem, while precisely engineered inverted pleats are concealed at the foot corners. Deep within each pleat, a recessed tobacco-olive textile appears only as a narrow shadow of contrast—a detail intended to be discovered rather than displayed.
